Distribution and Habitat
Pallas's leaf warbler breeds in Siberia from the Altai Mountains east to the Sea of Okhotsk, northern Mongolia, northeast China and possibly North Korea. It is strongly migratory and winters mainly in subtropical south China, northern Thailand and elsewhere in northeastern Indochina. It is a rare passage migrant bird in Korea. Many be observed in the high altitudes of 1,000m above sea level in Seolak Mountain, Jumbong and Odaesan mountains.
Behavior
Moves quickly between branches and leaves to find food. They forage bushes and trees, picking items from leaves or catching prey in short flights or while hovering. Males sings from a concealed perch near the top of a tall tree.
Characteristic
It has greenish upper parts with yellow rump. Supercilium is bold yellow and distinctive. Yellow double wing bars on the wing covert feathers. Dark spots behind the secondaries. Round spot behind the ear tuft in white.
Similar species
Yellow-browed Warbler ; Has paler central crown stripe. Overall greenish upper parts. Supercilium is narrow with yellow in front and white in the back. Rump in same color as the back.

Chinese Leaf Warbler(P. yunnanensis) : There are some pale yellow spots on the rump. The tip of the greater wing coverts is distinct white, and the middle wing covert is very pale. Unlike the Pallas’s Leaf Warbler, there are no dark spots on the second wing covert behind the wing. The center line of the head is pale and the front of the crown is narrow. There are no dark spots on the base of the ear. The center line of the head is pale and the front of the crown is narrow. Does not have a round spot on the ear cuft. The third wing covert edge and tip are narrow and pale. The bill is slightly longer and the lower bill is lighter in color. The legs are lighter. Underside of body is white with very light gray speckles on chest, with blurry yellow. Pale yellow in the middle of the belly.
